Abhishek Pushkarni in Vaishali..

Before the advent of Buddhism and Jainism, Vaiśālī was the capital of the vibrantrepublican Licchavi state.[12] [13] In that period, Vaiśālī was an ancient metropolis and thecapital city of the republic of the Vaiśālī state, which covered most of the HimalayanGangetic region of present-day Bihar state, India. However, very little is known about the early history of Vaiśālī.

Birth of Prince Vardhman (Lord Mahaveer)

In a place called Kundalagrama (Modern Hajipur Vaishali district) situated close to Besadha Patti, 27 miles from Patna in modern dayBihar, India, Mahavira was born in a royal family to King Siddartha and Queen Trishala on the 13th day under the rising moon of Chaitra(12 April according to the Gregorian calendar). While still in his mother's womb it is believed he brought wealth and prosperity to the entire kingdom, which is why he was named Vardhaman.

Vaishali The Birth Place of Lord Mahavira.

Vaishali derives its name from King Vishal of the Mahabharata age. Even before the advent of Buddhism and Jainism, Vaishali was the capital of the vibrant republican Licchavi state since before the birth of Mahavira (c. 599 BC), which suggests that it was perhaps the first republic in the world, similar to those later found in ancient Greece.[1]
